Q. What is a wedge?

A. Usually an item that props you in a position to enable clearer breathing, and/or which positions you in/on a bed so that you don't slip down. We also produce seat wedge cushions which encourage correct pelvic tilt to reduce pressure on lumbar discs.

Q. Can you explain your wedges?

A. We have a number of items. The adjustable Contoured Bed Wedge is our most popular in that it allows you to rest or sleep at an angle of around 14°. It also features a sleeve which you can delete to lower the angle for personal comfort and medical requirement.

The Contoured Bed Wedge is designed for those with breathing difficulties such as emphysema and asthma sufferers, hiatus hernia, gastric reflux, heart conditions etc. Please see more information on this site.

Then we have the Bed Seat, which is a sculptured wedge which sits under the thighs and which prevents the user from slipping down the bed when relaxing.

Then there''s Quad Cushion which is a multi-use 'wedge' which can be positioned under the ankles/archilles to minimise bed sores on the heel and foot area, and Quad is also handy for under the knees in the back position (scissor position), and as a lower back support.

All the aforementioned products are designed to promote comfort and good posture, and clearer breathing, while resting or sleeping.

The wedge seat cushions: We make two ... Keyhole Cushion for post-operative use, and Posture Wedge as a general seating cushion for those who need to encourage correct pelvic tilt and thereby help alleviate pressure on lumbar discs.

Q. What are your wedges made from?

A. From premium-grade foam. Covers are in Quilted polycotton, nylon coated with a film of waterproof polyurethane, or velours. Please see individual product categories for further information on this.

Q. Are your wedges anti-allergenic?

A. Yes, our foams are treated with anti-allergenic properties to make the environment for dust mites to exist in inhospitable.

A. Yes, for care please see packaging and/or label on the product.

Q. Why is the Contoured Bed Wedge pillow better than other wedges on the market?

A. A. The Contoured Bed Wedge pillow is longer than most wedges available and supports the head, chest and shoulders. Simply raising the head on pillow causes the body to bend in the middle and actually makes reflux worse. When not sleeping on your Contoured Bed Wedge, lean against it for reading or watching TV. It will slide easily under most beds.

Q. Do you offer a Contoured Bed Wedge pillow with a mite-proof cover?

A. A. Yes. You can purchase the Contoured Bed Wedge pillow in an allergen barrier mite-proof zippered cover. This soft, breathable encasement will protect your pillow from dust, dust mites, and other allergens. Poly cotton pillows slips are available in Cream, White or Chocolate.

Q. Do I have to sleep on my back to get the benefits of the Contoured Bed Wedge pillow?

A. A. No, you may sleep on your side or on your back and you will still get a better night's sleep.

Q. How do I cover my Contoured Bed Wedge pillow?

A. The Contoured Bed Wedge pillow comes in a removable quilted or waterproof cover. These covers are not designed for regular washing. It is preferable to use a tailor made poly cotton covers on the wedge. They are available in Cream, White or Chocolate.

Q. Can I still use my own pillow when sleeping on the Contoured Bed Wedge pillow?

A. Yes. Most people sleep comfortably when placing their own pillow on the Contoured Bed Wedge pillow. Try sleeping with and without your pillow and see what is more comfortable for you.

Q. Can I use the Contoured Bed Wedge pillow on a water bed?

A. Yes. Water beds do not give as much support as regular mattresses, but the Contoured Bed Wedge pillow will still be effective.

Q. Who can benefit from sleeping on Contoured Bed Wedge?

A. People with GERD, reflux, hiatus hernias, asthma, respiratory diseases, snoring problems, heart patients, pregnant women, or anyone who will sleep better elevated.

Q. What are the dimensions of Contoured Bed Wedge?

A. Metric Dimensions: 68 cm wide x 75 cm long x 25 cm high x 4 cm at lowest end.
Imperial Dimensions: 26.8" wide, 29.5" long 9.8" high and 1.6" high at the lowest end.

It easily fits on a twin bed or one half of a double, queen or king without disturbing the other person.

Q. Does it take time to get used to sleeping on Contoured Bed Wedge?

A. It may take a night or two to get used to the benefits of your new sleeping position. Most people find it only takes one night to love Contoured Bed Wedge.

Q. Does sleeping on Contoured Bed Wedge replace medical advice?

A. No. For minor or occasional heartburn, or chest congestion Contoured Bed Wedge may be all you need. For persistent heartburn or other medical problems, consult your doctor or health care professional.

A. Health regulations prohibit the return of pillows. Contoured Bed Wedge pillows and pillow covers are guaranteed against defects.
