Massage Techniques


Below is a list of the most popular massage techniques. You can choose the one that's right for you according to your specific needs and desires.

Acupressure

Employs the pressure of fingers, thumbs and elbows to release tension om muscle fibres by applying focused pressure and releasing it, sending blood rushing back into the tissue.

Crantial Sacral

Via gentle manipulative techniques on the scull and vertebrae, it balances the circulation of the liquid that surrounds the brain, thus improving the brain and spinal cord's ability to dissapate the negative effects of stress.

Deep Tissue

Used to release chronic muscle tension through slow strokes and direct pressure on the muscles and connective tissue. Ideal for getting the blood and oxygen circulating again.

Massage Cupping

Massage cupping is used to increase blood flow and to loosen adhesions and stubborn knots in soft tissue.

Reiki

Meaning "universal life-force energy", this technique uses traditional hand positions placed on the body without pressure, or not touching at all. The therapist heals the body by altering the energy.

Reflexology

Manual pressure is applied to the soles of the feet, where specific points connect with different parts of the body. After finding blockages or imbalances, the therapist releases them to restore the flow of bllld and energy.

Rolfing

Aligns the major body parts by gradually stretching, lengthening and repositioning the connective tissues.

Shiatsu

"Finger" (shi) "pressure" (atsu) works with acupressure points to invigorate and increase energy levels.

A traditional hands-on Japanese healing therapy that comvines pressure with the application of long strokes over the body's energy fields.

Watsu

A combination of shiatsu with hydrotherapy.

Swedish

A collection of techniques designed to relax muscles by applying soft strokes on the more delicate parts of the body and stronger strokes on the more thickly muscled area that retain stress. Great for reduction emotional and physical stress.

Trager

Physical and verbal comunication are used to contact the subconscious, communicate with the muscles and coax them back to health, ideal for feeling peace and serenity.

Warm Stone Therapy

One of the latest trends in massage therapy, combining massage with the use of heated lava stones to carry warmth deep into muscles and joints to relax the body at its deepest level.
